For the past 3 weeks in college we have been working towards our Music Video Production assignment. In groups of 3 we have to produce a music video. Our tutor decided to have a theme to the music and or music video. The theme was change. After researching ‘change’ songs on google we was finding it hard to find one. In our production meeting I came up with the song ‘Noah and the Whale – L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N’.
We analysed the lyrics and came up with scenarios to each verse so that the filming would be organised when we came to filming it after half term. The main scenario of our musics video is about a boy who’s in love with a female in his class. The boy is going through an hard time but is a really good writer and artist. The girl falls out of love with the boy ending in them both going their own ways.
My hatred for animation assignments last year as come in handy this year. We as a group decided to put an animation element into the music video to gain more marks. Live stop motion is really easy to do and with the likes of it being on Miranda’s title sequence we knew it would look really good in our music video.
The title of the song is Iconic and every Noah and the Whale fan knows this song. We decided that L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N would look really good if the boy and the girl held them up and took seperate photos of them to create life stop motion. This is for the chorus the main part of the music video which people usually remember the most. The props for the music video are all now done and will be ready for filming after half term.
I’m going to write another blog once I’ve completed the music video with how it all went. I’m not sure if I will be able to upload the video yet but if I do I will upload the link for everyone to see.
